Hello again, my awesome readers. Writing this article has always been in my mind but I don’t why I have held onto it so long. As every software engineer in India, I also had a passion for working abroad. Though this thought has been there for several years I did not pay so much attention to it. Because I am earning quite a good salary in India then I thought why unnecessarily take that pain of leaving the home country.

But a few reasons added a little more fuel to it. Of course, money is one of them. And as this thought came burning harder in my mind I started searching for software jobs outside India. I was not really focused on where I should go. But my main focus is to get out of India. I was trying here and there without any proper guidance or process. I even approached consultancies and wasted quite a bit of money. But that did not really help.

Then how did I get the job in London from India? Follow from here on. In this article, I am gonna give you five top tips that help you get a job in the UK.

Why the UK and why not the USA or Canada?

I was searching for the process for different countries. And for the USA I already lost one lakh rupees applying for H1B in the past. I did not want to lose the money again. Because I know about my luck. So I was leaning more towards Canada. I was collecting as much information as I can for getting the Canada PR. Then in the middle of the process, the UK Skilled Worker Program came as a soothing surprise to me. I will write the exact process in another article. But we don’t need a PR(Permanent Residency) to migrate to the UK. All we need is a sponsor that gives us the Job offer and the Visa Sponsorship.

Not every company in the UK can provide us the sponsorship. Not because they can’t do it, but because they are not eligible to do that.

Yes, for a company to provide the Visa Sponsorship, they should first register for a license with the UK government to sponsor the visa to the candidates. And the UK government has some regulations for it. So in simple words, only a Licensed Sponsor can give us the Job and sponsor the visa.
